One of my friends has passed away due to Covid. His wife is 6 months pregnant in Delhi with 2 babies and she can't support both. She/ Her Family wants to give one baby to us post delivery legally and I have agreed. We are a childless couple Aged 38 and 37. Looking for correct legal way to adopt post delivery which saves time and with less hassle for both sides.

You may please execute an adoption deed and get it registered. Second step file this adoption deed before the jurisdictional court and get this validated under the Hindu adoption and Maintenance Act,1956 if both the parties are Hindu. Also submit the duttahomam ritual pictures as additional proof. Thank you.

- She is pregnant with Twins ? - Its better to do paper work after delivery. Because things can change after delivery. - Register adoption deed if they still agree after delivery.

Hi, You need to get an adoption deed drafted and signed by the biological parent, who in this case is your friend's wife. You would also feed to get the adoption deed registered.
