For birth and death.. nothing is called a original.. all are certified copies of the entry in municipal register.. u can get any number of certified copies / original by applying to the certificate issuing office.. Besides the school action is a wrong one..

You may file an application for return of original birth certificate addressing to the Principal and send a copy to Education Secretary of State Government as well. But you may get another copy of birth certificate from the Registrar of Birth and Death. Better take a copy of another Birth certificate.
