My friend took an amount of Rs. 46000 for the medical reasons for his father in 2013. After I tried a lot and asked him to return my money he returned me rs 30000 out of Rs. 46000 in 2017. Later due to the poor condition of his family and an unsolved matter of his late father's pension and GPF issue, he again borrowed an amount of 12000 in timely installments such as 500, 1000, and 1500 from me. I helped him as the economical condition of this friend was critical. Now he has to give a total amount of 28000 rs. After calling several times, just assuring me that he is in the bank and will pay my amount the next day and his fone goes switch off the next day. Also for 2 years, he left the rented home and no one knows where he is living now. I have his phone number and it is reachable sometimes, for the last 6 months, he is deceiving me and just telling me he will return my money tomorrow, sending u just now but all are fake. I have call recordings, SMS, and Whatsapp chat as proof. Can I file a police complaint?

1. you can serve him a legal notice through a lawyer to make payment of the outstanding amount along with the interest, 2. if payment is not made despite service of the legal notice, you can file a civil suit for the recovery of the amount, 3. chat, call records, WhatsApp record, if relevant, can prove your case and are admissible as an evidence

Yours is not a Legal matter as it pertains to your social relations. It would be advisable to Contact him and manage to get a document signed like a Promissory Note, or Agement so that You have something to prove if Under any circumstances You have to approach the Court.
