We have a land case which continued for years. During this time my father gave an affidavit stating cannot appear for the case as not well. He was not well but still attended his office ( regular job). Now few people are trying to use this affidavit as a case against my father. The question is what is the law around this.

Hi, If they are making false claims, they can be punished under Section 209 of the Indian Penal Code. Your father has a obligation to explain why he was still going to work if he couldn't attend Court, if he fails to do so, he is liable to be punished for perjury under Section 193 IPC.
