I have some lands in a 6th scheduled area (Meghalaya), which are located in the heart of the district. I am about to start a building project to be sold to the customers, but have some doubts:
1. Is the real estate business allowed in the 6th scheduled area? Meghalaya has no rule or prescribed formality. Kindly advice the process from the start till the end?
2. Is there any chance that banks will allow housing loans to the people? Can the apartments be mortgaged to the banks?
3. The lands are in my name. But is there any chance that they can be taken back by the council or any body present here?
4. What are the normal startup deposits or insurance costs that are required?
5. Kindly give detailed processes and estimates for a 5-10 crore project?
6. Kindly treat it as an input needed for a complete novice.
