I am a software developer in a IT firm. I have resigned my job on May. In my offer letter, the notice period is 90 days while other employees are having only 60 days notice. Even trainee and junior positions are having 60 days notice. Due to my personal commitments and situation, I couldnt continue my career. They told me to pay the full amount notice period of 90 days. I have asked why I am only having 90 days notice period. And they are not giving clear response to me. Should I need to file a case against the employer.

Read your terms of contract, you are bound by that. But you can get terms relaxed by amicable talk with Employer.
