My daughter has completed a course in Fashion Styling from a private institute. This is a one year course after HSC. At the time of admission, we were told that it is a DIPLOMA course. After the course, however, it was mentioned CERTIFICATE COURSE on the issued certificate and nowhere the word DIPLOMA was mentioned. We had paid the fees in 2 installments totaling RS. 90,000-00. On the fee receipts, the course name was mentioned as FASHION STYLING only. The words CERTIFICATE COURSE or DIPLOMA COURSE were not mentioned. Thus we have no documentary evidence that they had promised a DIPLOMA. Can we file a case in the consumer court?

You need to first send them a legal notice thereby correcting the certificate issued and thereafter file a consumer complaint in the consumer forum as the consumer court won't entertain your complaint unless you follow the mandate of sending a legal notice.
