I would like to draw your attention to my problem. I wanted to pursue POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN TRANSLATION(PGDT, HINDI-ENGLISH) along with my POST GRADUATION. Upon searching I found IGNOU( Indira Gandhi National Open University ) Delhi most suitable for my above said PGDT course. But upon perusal of IGNOU\'s PROSPECTUS JANUARY 2020 the following thing is mentioned on PAGE 198-:
However simultaneously pursuing two academic Programmes at degree level, either from the same
University, or one from the Open University (under ODL mode) and the other from Conventional
University (regular or face-to-face mode) is not permitted, as of now.
This clearly denies any student to pursue 1 POST GRADUATION and 1 POST GRADUATION DIPLOMA simultaneously.
Whereas to my surprise, I found UPRTOU(U.P.Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Prayagraj) AND KUK(KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY,DISTANCE EDUCATION), HARYANA are allowing students to pursue a myriad of combinations along with with a DEGREE AND POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA by citing Distance Education Council (40th meeting dated 8.6.2012).
Why this anomaly . Why different rules for combination of same courses. Please look into this matter as just because of this anomaly my 1 year will be wasted as I will be forced to do my PGDT after completing my POST GRADUATION.
