I am using the SBI card for more than 2.5 years and been prompt at payments. During COVID I availed the moratorium for the months' May and June. Paid in part payment in July and complete payment in August. But, since July they started troubling me. Then in August they sent me a mail asking me to destroy the card and stated that I am not eligible to avail the moratorium and I am declared as NPA. I Kept on writing asking the reasons why am not eligible to avail the moratorium and how I was declared as NPA. Also, I questioned them why I should destroy my card and make the entire balance payment while the pending amount is still on EMIs that I availed. I approached the RBI too with the entire details. RBI always kept quiet with no answer though I kept on writing to them. What should I do now and I want to fight against these SBICards, Please advise me.

You may at this stage ask for the Citizen Charter on the subject and then serve a detailed legal notice upon the Bankers expressing your intentions. The matter probably will not resolved. Otherwise file a Civil Suit in the local court challenging the declaration of NPA. You have a good case and you will succeed definitely. You are also at liberty to take up the matter with the Banking Ombudsman. Even the matter can also be taken up before the Consumer Court becaise it can be treated as deficiency in service.
