I have created an artwork of Hon. Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi which contains his name & portrait. Have created it to print it on merchandise like t-shirts & then sell those to the end user. Want to register for its copyright. My questions are as below: 1. Will I have to acquire any permission/license from Shri. Narendra Modi or Bhartiya Janata Party's IT cell or someone else to register the artwork for copyright. If yes, then from whom will I have to get the needful done." 2. How long will it take to get the copyright registered & how much would it cost. Kindly guide me. Thanks in advance.

Unless u doubt that, one day PM will come and claim damage as 'copyright' from u. you need not worry about it.. However rightful/legal thing is to get approval or NOC from Modi by possible means, if any. No copyright will arise, Unless there's is a significant Artistic value than mere portrait & name. Better for consultation, for detailed discussion..
