    In your case if you believe that the Investigating Officer had failed to do a fair investigation then you can always apply a protest petition in the court. And there is no time limit for the filing of the protest petition and you can file your objections even on the same day of your appearance while the final report is being filed by the police officials. Then the Magistrate may accept the Protest Petition and reject the final report and take cognizance under Section 190 of the code of criminal procedure.
