    Once it is given to one family member then it cannot be snatched and given to another family member.

    All the dependents of the death persona is applicable for the employment. The Dependents includes 1) Spouse of the government servant; 2) Son (including adopted son) of the government servant; 3) Daughter (including an adopted daughter) of the government servant; 4) Brother or sister in case of unmarried government servant; 5) Member of the Armed Forces, who was entirely dependent upon the Government Servant/member of the Armed Forces at the time of his death in harness or retirement on medical grounds, as the case may be. A married daughter can also apply for a compassionate appointment if she was wholly dependent upon the government servant at the time of his/her death in harness or retirement on medical grounds and if she supports other dependent members of the family. All the above mention rules changes from state to state and the age of the your father at the time of service. Request you to share all the details for the further consultancy.
