Yes his only son can sell the property but first he has to declare the missing person dead and get order court and then file another suit of succession once he gets the Decree in succession then he will be Authorized to sell the property
sir in this case you have to file a missing complaint, there after you have to file a civil suit to declare that your grandfather is dead, as per the law if a person is not heard of or seen for more then seven years he can be declared dead, hence first file a missing complaint and then file a declaration suit that he is dead, further get the succession certificate and then sell the property.
