if the house is ancestral then you can file a case in civil Court and stay will be granted but if the property is self acquired then you cannot stom him by doing so

What is the status of ownership, if it is a ancestrial or self acquired property. Legal position in together different in both the cases. But being head of the family and for a self acquired property he can but in case of ancestrial property the things may be different. if the house is self earned by your father, he can sale the same, however, your mother can file a case of domestic violence against your father and apply for a stay on the sale of the house mentioning the house as her matrimonial home,

Dear client, as father is real owner of the house. so he has right to sell the property but you can give paper publications in daily newspaper paper through lawyer to not to purchase the said property.
