It's a self-earned property by my aunt (mother younger sister- Chithi) and she wanted to write her property on my name as a settlement in favour of family member (Hindu Religion)- pls suggest. If it's not possible then please suggest how this can be sorted out with less registration and stamp duty as it's not a sale and transaction within the family. This is the information I got from the internet. Settlement in favour of family members 1% On the market value of the property but not exceeding Rs.25000/- 1% on the market value of the property subject to a maximum of Rs.4000/- ii) Other Cases 7% on the market value of the property 4% on the Market Value

There are two specific ways One she can execute a Gift Deed in your favour which is the permanent solution thereafter there will be no apprehension of any kind. Secondly, A Will can be executed but she will be be having authority to change, cancel or revoke the will at any time in future. Choice is yours. your aunt can make a will but it will come in force after her death file case of family settlement in court as the registration fee is 1% it will be decided within 2/3 months
