How To Apply For Indian Passport But Hold A Nepali Passport?

I was born in India and lived with my mom in Nepal for a better half of my life. I took Nepali citizenship from her and the passport. My dad is an Indian (in the army). I started living in India after 19-20 years of old. I am right now 29 years old. My Nepali passport has expired. And wanted to take the Indian passport as I will be living here. I have researched that I will have to renounce my Nepali passport. And then apply for the Indian passport. What is the exact process for this? What additional documentations are required? Do I submit renunciation proof along with application of the passport? What kind of hurdles can I face and how to remedy them?
