I'm currently an undergraduate student at Christ College, Bangalore. The deemed to be university is currently conducting its online exams through a platform called Mercer Mettl and I saw a thread on Twitter which said that the institution failed to disclose their privacy notice.
I looked up their privacy notice on their website (https://mettl.com/privacy-notice/) and saw a paragraph which states that the employer is required to disclose this notice.
My question is whether if the institution is legally required to disclose this privacy notice to their students which they haven't in either their notices or guidelines and are there any implications to this.
The only reference they have about data collection is stating that audio and video will be recorded. It does not mention to what extent the data is being used as in the case of the privacy notice made by mettl or make any attempt to disclose it.
