We are building a house and the neighbour claims that four (4) feet of our land as theirs, which interrupts with the building construction. They requested enquiry from Land revenue and settlement department, and upon inspecting both (us and neighbour) our LSC and plot of the land by representative from department, in the presence of Local Council members, it was found that, in fact some of their land belongs to us. This makes them even more angry and cause nuisance, and thus disturbs with the progression of the building construction even though we have written permission from Distric Magistrate. Our plot of land is bounded on the West by highway, On the South by water drainage, on the East by water drainage, and on the North is our neighbour. And even as of now, our plot of land is smaller than it is in the LSC. I, therefore, humbly ask what we could/should do to protect our land and continue the building construction.

Get a Declaration from the court regarding the ownership and possession and also an Injunction restraining your neighbour from any interference in future. It will solve the problem permanently. An injunction against the erring neighbour will be sufficient for now to complete your work later you can continue with the case and even get back the portion of land that the neighbour has encroached upon.

Hi, You can show them an injunction order passed by District Magistrate. You can take action to enforce the order. If there is breach of court order then you can file for Contempt of Court.
