Every unintended touch can not be considered as sexual harassment : Delhi High Court
By Vkeel Team
Not every unwanted touch can be brought under sexual harassment, when it is not touched with that intention. The High Court comment this while hearing the petition.
The scientist of the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) alleged the accused barged into a laboratory where she was working in April 2005. Her senior colleague came there, stopped the machine and stripped the samples from her hand. He then pushed her out of the laboratory and locked it.
After investigating the complaint of the woman, the sexual harassment panel gave a clean chit to a senior colleague, saying that it was not a matter of sexual harassment but was a matter of fight dispute.
Justice Vibhu Bakhru said that accidentally unhealthy touch can not be considered sexual harassment.
