The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked JP Associate Limited (JAL) to pay money to the flat buyers and said that if he does not do this, then it will be considered as contempt of court. The court said that those who do not want to take a flat should get their money. Otherwise, the Tihar Jail is not far away.

The bench chaired by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra ordered this during the hearing of JP’s flat buyers. It is notable that JAL is the holding company of JP Infratech (JIL). The court refused to hear an urgent hearing on the request for a bankrupt procedure in the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) against the JAL company of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The bench said that he wants to safeguard the interests of flat buyers.

The court asked Pawan Shree Agrawal to make separate portal for JAL’s flat buyers and keep it running. Senior advocate Ranjit Kumar, appearing for JAL’s directors, told the court that the court granted him exemption from personal appearance. Court advised not to sell private property, giving exemption from the muscle.

DLF fined Rs 1 crore

Supreme Court has upheld the Kerala High Court’s decision to impose a fine of Rs 1 crore on real estate company DLF to make 180 luxury flats along the Chillavnur river in Kochi.

Justice RF Nariman and SK Kaul, however, refused to accept the results of the High Court on the validity of the flat construction. The Supreme Court said that the approval process can be simplified by promoting single window clearance.
