Liability

I was M.D of pvt ltd chit (kuri) co and resigned on Dec 2015 after paying all the pending dues to the customers until my resignation date. Because of my name as MD appearing in passbook etc, customers are still sue against me for the payments those actually due after my resigned date. Could you pls tell me what would be my liabilities even after my resignation (I got resigned acknowledgment from micr)
