I am a married woman. I filed a divorce case. I created a fake profile on Facebook because I am not sure to get separated from my husband so in order to judge his real behavior I chat with him through a fake profile, because I have doubt about his character. Is this is any possibility that I can punish for creating a fake profile in the future. Is it a cyber crime or not?

SECTION 66D of the Information Technology Act, 2000 deals with CHEATING BY PERSONATION USING COMPUTER OR COMPUTER DEVICE, which brings within its ambit fake social media profiles. But here your intention is not to cheat but to ascertain something.
