a doctor made false accusation against another doctor in public for misappropriating medicines of patients and selling them for personal gain. refuses to withdraw allegation & apologise. can i file civil suit for injury, loss of reputation, mental harassment, compensation & simultaneously report tp INDIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION for unethical behaviour vide MCI REGULATION ON ETHICS .

You can file defamation case and also sent complaint to MCI.. However if his comment is assessed as "Good faith in public interest" then he can successfully defend his case.. Nothing can be done in defamation case.. However MCI have wide power which may take any action in view of other professional ethics..
