My friend had purchased Home Loan Insurance Policy in 2016 with advance premium for 5 years to protect home loan in case of any untimely death. The policy is covering Critical Illness also. Unfortunately, he died due to covid-19 in November 2020, but the insurance company rejected the claim with the reply that Covid-19 does not c under Critical Illness. Subsequently, we checked several online articles which reflect that being a global Pandemic, Covid-19 will be covered under Critical Illness and that no "Force Majeure" will be applicable in the policies in case of Covid-19. Can you please check and advise the facts.

To initiate the process you have to get a legal notice served upon the Insurance Company and then to file a complaint before the Consumer Commission if the matter is not resolved.
