R.Mayakrishnan is right,if DL renewed than insurance company will be liabile

if insurance is in existence on the day of accident then owner and insurance company liable to pay the compensation

Owner be liable to compensation

only Owner shall be liable. Section 149 of MV Act

If at the time of the accident the driver had no valid license, even if not renewed, insurance co is not liable. Driver and owner shall be responsible to pay compensation.
