Apartment With Builder

We recently bought an apartment with a big builder. During our interior design, we wanted to change the wall tiles of the kitchen and the builder is objecting. They are not even allowing us to put nails to change hanging points for RO and giving excuses that this is going to damage the wall and we need to sign an agreement with them to give a lifetime warranty that this will not cause any problem. Slowly we are feeling that this is not our house and we are living in someone else's house. Could you please advise what the law says and how consumers are protected from this kind of harassment?
