We are 2 girl children to my parents. I am the elder one and married. Recently my younger sister's marriage was settled. My parents were agreed to give her the living house as a gift (dowry) after their death. But my sister's father in law told us to register the house in the name of my sister with their initial, not with my parents initial. So my question is, is it correct to register the house to my sister with their initial instead of my parent's initial. Will we face any further issues if we do like that. If at all what we have to do now.

before the time of marriage the property can be registered on your sister name and initial will be added in documents only after her marriage and changes in documents so it will be better to register the property with present documents or wait till new documents

1. the registration in the name of your sister will be done according to her name as shown in documents like aadhar card, 2. the initials/surname cannot be changed until a legal procedure is adopted, 3. if you want to put the initials/surname, then you have to apply for the procedure of name change,

In case your sister wants to have her in laws initial . She has to change her name through Provision of Law With out due procedure mere changing the Initial in Property papers may lead to problems in the future as her other identity Documents will in the Original Name. It is not at all safer to transfer the property and registration at this stage in the names of the in laws. It may cause complication for your sister thereafter.
