Builder can not use pandemic to delay the construction and then charge buyers for delay due to pandemic. - You can send notice. - You can complaint to RERA. - You can pay after negotiations and then go to consumer court because builder will delay the project.

Dear Sir, There must be some clause that the builder shall deliver within specified period/time. Invoke that clause and set off.

Hi, You can send them a legal notice mentioning the clause of 'Force Majeure'- an act of God, under Section 6 of the RERA, 2016. The net effect because of Covid is that the home buyers will get delivery of their units after a delay of at least nine months as the regulators would extend the registration and completion date by six months automatically with an option for further extension of three months. All the clauses of the agreement signed between the developers and the buyers, providing for penal interest for delayed possession, would stand suspended. So he cannot charge an interest on delayed payment. If you find this helpful, please rate my answer. Thank You.
