I am looking to buy a farmhouse in Maharashtra, I am not a farmer neither do I have anybody in my family who is a farmer, as per law, can I buy a farmhouse in Maharashtra and what are the conditions, pre-conditions to buy it, if at all.

You need to be an agriculturist to buy agricultural land in Maharashtra. Agriculturalist from any other state can also buy agricultural land in Maharashtra. You will have to show a farmers certificate and copy of land record in which your name is mutated. Without collectors permission you cannot buy agricultural land..........
