Mother gifted the property to sole legal heir daughter through gift deed registered. Now, she is insisting to cancel it to give it to her step-son from a different mother. 1. Can a gift deed be canceled/revoked. The daughter had possession of property for 1 year and was taking care of her mother. Now she insisted to move back to the gifted property and took possession of it and called back step-son and under his influence, asking to revoke the gift deed. 2. How much share a legal heir(daughter) can have in ancestral property (under grandmother's name) even if Mother wants to give it away to step-son from different mother.

if gift deed is received unlawfully then it can be cancelled/ revoked . daughter has equal right in property as son .

Hello Sir/Ma'am If the gift deed has been executed and the property has been transferred to daughter then the gift deed cannot be cancelled. A daughter has equal share in the ancestral property as of son after the amendment to the hindu Succession act in the year 2005. Thanks Please rate if you find this advice helpful
