Pathway Disputes

We purchased a land 5 years ago in Mundur panchayth. The land does not have a panchayth road connecting it directly but a general pathway which has been in use for years per se. We constructed a house on the said plot 2 years ago. Now the neighbors are claiming we can't access the road in front of our house as they purchased it along with 4 other land owners years before we purchased and this is mentioned in their title deed(as they say, we have not read their title deed). Our title deed mentions complete access to all the ways but which specific way is not mentioned. How is this possible. Also, we have taken loan so bank has thoroughly checked for all vazhi. Also what is the difference between puthuvazhi and swakarya vazhi. If what the neighbors say is correct so can't we use the way since it is directly in front of our house. They say we have only access to the path that comes from down to up and this up corner touches our plot. But this only touches the corner and not a complete side.
