Hi, My Relative/owner have rented out a shop for around 20 years. The last agreement was made back 2010 post which my relative was asking the tenant to vacate but they were asking time and its been years. He is paying the rent in cash but my relative/owner is making electricity payment. However, back in 2022 they have sent an legal notice for them to vacate. And my relative/owner is living in the same address as the rented out property. One question, in this case is there any possibility for adverse possession. Regards

Dear client I am sorry to hear that but in the case if the title of the property belongs to your relative or the title properties in the name of your relative than no one can ask them or take the possession of the property. it is illegal and a complaint or a case can be find against it
