I am residing in a place called khopoli, Maharashtra. We are staying in a building that is 10-12 years old, which is in good condition and doesn't need a redevelopment. I have done interiors which cost around 5-6 lacks 6 months back. However, the society member (majority) are willing to give the building for redevelopment to a builder blindly and I am the only person against it so far. My flat is a duplex (ground+1) flat, my concern is that I will lose all I spend on my interiors, will I get the same style flat. Where will we live during the construction period? And who will pay for the expenses or rent? To avoid all these issues I am against. The builder and society members say that I cant do anything as they have the majority. Is there any possible way that I can defend my stance?

Yours is a contentious issues since the orders are passed by majority. It would be difficult as there is no legal issue as such. Better to contact some Local Lawyer who could give you the better insight being near to the place you live.. Hi Ajish, When decisions are taken collectively for a greater good you need to be a part of the same, however if other members are sending the property for the redevelopment the cost would be borne by all the members in the proportion of the maintenance.
