Govt Excise arrack dept trying to take over my mother's property (land - 5 acres), because payment pending is with my father. But my mother's property is gifted by my grandmother in 1994. And as per their records, my father was didn't pay his dues in 1998. and he didn't give any security of any property. Even he doesn't have any property on his own. After 23 years later, govt trying to take my mother's property for his negligence. and D.C sent the notice. We submitted request letter to D.C office, but not affecting. Please provide a solution.

Your version has got to be proved vide the documents and legally no Property other than that of Your Father can be attached. But prove it carefully on records. You will be in the safer zone. No , any authorities cannot take over your mother property. Issue Legal Notice under The  Married Women Property Act, 1874. Contact any Advocates in this Forum for your relief
