I am having a franchise for the Grocery store (mini-supermarket - Standalone store) in Bangalore. While taking franchise I paid 15 Lakh refundable security deposit and the company was paying a fixed interest on that security amount. From the last 6 months I am not getting my monthly payout and yesterday I received an email stating due to Covid-19 they are imposing Force majeure clause of Contract and terminating the contract and will not pay back the security deposit. Wanted to validate that and will it be a good option to pursue legally on this issue.

Force Majeure Clause apply only during Lock Down 1 To 3 stages only . Issue Legal Notice and File Money Recovery case and you can include money spent on your Pain Suffering , Interest and Legal Expense also. Contact Any Advocates in this Forum for your Relief
