Hi there, As per the present legal scenario, and the the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order 1950 states that only certain persons can be treated to be as SC. When a Scheduled Caste person converts to a faith other than Hinduism, Sikhism, or Buddhism, they lose their Scheduled Caste status and are no longer eligible for the SC reservation. They may, however, be classified as Other Backward Castes due to their social and educational disadvantages (OBCs). Several states have categorise religious converts into different groups. Thank you.
