Patta In Some Other Name

Hi, we are living in the same house for past 60 years. With all mothers docs and taxes paid intact. Recently we plan to start construction for a part of our house which was rented. Before acquiring plan as we needed patta we went to change the name. But looks like it is showing some other name in their records. They told they will investigate this further. What should we be doing . Leave it to revenue department to fix it or what you suggest.
