I have a plot of agricultural land in a remote location. I had permitted a local person there to plant banana on the land without any rent or share of income. This was done informally, just to help him. This arrangement has been on for about 8 years. I have been paying land tax on schedule. I have recently been told there is a danger of the land being illegally used by the person in convivence with local politicians. Can you please advise me on how I could secure my property?

Confirm about the ownership status of the Land from the Revenue Department and check the recorded satisfactorily. Then make a legal Agreement with the person who is doing cultivation on Your Land to be more specific about the ownership of the Land. If you feel some apprehension about the ownership get it corrected for safeguarding Your Interest.
