Query Regarding Second Appeal Filed At State Information Commission

Dear Sir, The State Information Commission may issue notice of appeal to the Respondent and if does not appear then hear you and decide the matter. Otherwise it will be decided on merits. If during the pendency of Appeal information is furnished then appeal will be dismissed.

Dear Client, The SCI has the power to impose a penalty on the Public authority as per Section 20(1) RTI. Under Section 20 (2) of RTI act it can also recommend disciplinary action on the Public authority. As per Section 19(8) (b) of the RTI act SIC can require the Public authority to compensate the complainant/ Appellant for any loss or detriment suffered. Thank you.
