Your degree does not get illegal for the sole reason that you did it with out the permission of the employer. For your service purposes that degree would not be reckoned, that's all is the negative. If you are true that you were a student before joining service, give a representation stating that fact and request to approve the degree and enter the same in the service records. If that doesn't work file an OA before the CAT. If still you fail, forget it and try to change services.
