I am planning to move my car from KA to TS state because of the relocation of my job. I approached two agents one is telling me I can transfer the road tax from (KA) to (TS) state so that no need to pay road tax in TS (only, If (TS) road tax is higher than the transferred amount then the remaining balance I need to pay). Another agent telling like need to register the vehicle first in (TS) and then I have to apply for a refund in (KA). not sure who is correct here, getting a lot of confusion. Kindly help me

Hi, You will unfortunately have to pay the Road Tax again after you move to new state. After making this payment you can get the road tax reimbursed. For this you will have to file an application with appropriate documents consisting of New and Old Registration Certificate, Address Proof and ID proof.
