  • you are eligible for deduction of an amount paid to the government as stamp duty. if the excess paid stamp duty is not refunded in this FY*Phone*then you are only eligible for deduction that has been actually paid. In case thr excess amount is refunded you will be eligible to claim deduction of 2% only.

    As per circular No.195 issued by the Maharashtra Govt. the reduction of the stamp dury will be applicable only from 1st Sep*Phone*In your case the stamp duty was already paid on 10th August 2020. In Maharashtra, you are entitled to claim refund of the stamp duty, within six months from its payment, in certain situations. You can claim the refund of stamp duty paid on such instrument, if the same has not been executed. The government deducts 1% of the stamp duty, subject to a minimum of Rs 200 and a maximum of Rs 1,000 of the stamp duty paid. Please connect to your agent for further course of action.
