Dear Gaurav It is advisable, firstly, that you should intimate Your friend informally by sending emails, message or what app demanding your dues. If latter don't give any satisfactory reply/denies then you are entitled to demand your dues by sending legal notice through your advocate and wait to reply from your friend. If he fails to do so file civil suit to recover money. It is noticeable that the same can be filed within 3yrs from the date of arising cause of action. If money was given through cheque you can file complaint under negotiable instrument act provisions. File the same as early as possible. For seeking further details kindly contact me.
