Yes, it is generally possible for someone else to pay a traffic challan on your behalf in an Indian court. Traffic challans can be paid by the registered owner of the vehicle or any other person with the necessary authorization. If you are on bed rest and unable to personally appear in court or make the payment, you can authorize someone else to pay the challan on your behalf. This can be done by providing a written authorization letter stating that you authorize the specific person to pay the challan on your behalf due to the medical reason. Possibly also attach a medical certificate for authenticity. The authorized person should carry this letter along with the necessary documents (such as vehicle registration details, driving license, etc.) and make the payment at the court.
