Our house is being renovated and we abide by the society rules. There was some misunderstanding on our part with regard to the work timings of the renovation. Due to this, the downstairs neighbor called me up and started yelling and talking in a very insulting and abusive tone and language. When my husband intervened, the neighbor insulted him too. As a woman, I am deeply offended by this line of talking and behavior. Can I file a complaint against the neighbor for disrespecting me as a woman and insulting me and my husband over a trivial matter?

Yes, You have the option file a Complaint before the local unit of Women Commission or you can also Approach the Mahila Police Station for Redressal of your grievance. Probably it will settle the matter. Otherwise approach the Court for damages.
