Forwarding Corporate Email To Personal Account

Unintentionally forwarded some general work email for reference as I got laid off, not any company confidential or patented info, was all deleted in front of the IT team. I'm now asked to sign an affidavit stating I have a leaked company confidential information and violated the code of conduct and any legal action can be taken against me at any point in time. I wasn't aware of this policy of not forwarding emails. they r forcing me to sign the affidavit in order to clear my exit formalities. How should I proceed?
