Show Cause Notice For Trying To Import E Cigarette

I today got a post from OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS: POSTAL APPRAISING DEPARTMENT, FOREIGN POST OFFICE telling me that the Vaping device (E-Cigarette) I tried to import, falls under prohibited goods. While ordering, I was completely unaware that this product was prohibited. The letter says, "You are hereby called upon to show cause notice to the undersigned Foreign Post Office within 15 days of the receipt of Show Cause Notice as to why: a) The prohibited article viz. "Vaping Device" should not be confiscated under section 111(d) of the Customs Act 1962 and: b) Penalty should not be imposed on him/her under section 112 of the Customs Act of 1962." Should I personally go for the hearing? Please Help! Much Appreciated!
